Brontedolci Brontoncini - Torroncini al Pistacchio (Pistachio nougats) 100g
A much-loved Christmas sweet, Sicilian nougat boasts a long history. You can easily make it at home with the original recipe, allowing us to create a genuine confectionery product that is particularly appreciated throughout Italy. Indeed, nougat holds its own against the more classic national panettone and pandoro, or the traditional Sicilian sweets that everyone raves about (including cassata and cannoli). But what lies behind this delicacy? Here’s everything you need to know.
Where does nougat originate, what is its meaning, and what is its primitive name?
As is plausible, the origin of Sicilian nougat can be traced back to Arab culture (and their corresponding domination and influence on the island). The primitive name for nougat is, in fact, cubbaita, derived from the Arabic word qubbaita.
Pistachio nougat from Bronte Dolci, known to all as Brontoncini, are one of the flagship products of our pastry chefs. Soft, delicious, and appetising, thanks to a sweet coating of pistachio-flavoured white chocolate and a soft heart of pistachio nougat inside. Our pistachio nougat is packaged in an elegant 100-gram cube, ideal as a sweet gift for all your occasions.
