A taste of Naples in a jar. Friarielli, tender turnip greens (broccoletti/cime di rapa) with their slightly bitter, distinctly Neapolitan character, are lightly cooked and preserved in oil with garlic and a touch of chilli, just as they're prepared in the traditional Campanian kitchen.

Friarielli are a Neapolitan institution, most famously paired with salsiccia (pork sausage) in the classic salsiccia e friarielli, but they're just as at home stirred through orecchiette, piled onto a piece of crusty bread, or served simply as a contorno alongside grilled meats. Their pleasantly bitter edge and garlicky depth make them one of the most distinctive greens in southern Italian cooking.

Ready to serve straight from the jar, just drain and warm through in a pan with a little extra oil to bring back that just-cooked flavour.
